Current Projects

Update on Well Project:  God has graciously provide water for our nine acres of land!  We are now in the process of raising funds for buildings that will enable us to secure the water pump, solar panels and generator and facilities that will allow us to have our first camp for the children.

The name of the camp is Camp Nasaru: A Place of Refuge.   Please see the “Support this Work” page for information on how to give to this project.

Hope Anew Ministry in Nairobi, Kenya is dedicated to promoting the truth of the Word of God to younger generations and setting them on the path to a right relationship with God by providing opportunities for children in impoverished areas to learn about the mighty works of God and His Son Jesus Christ. Currently, our bible clubs and other creative  activities are held at Hope Anew Children’s Center.

We are rejoicing at the provision of nine acres of land in a scenic and picturesque area away from the city slums! This is the place where we plan to establish Christian camp facilities to host hundreds of our children during school break.  We will also plant a garden where food for use during the camps will be grown.

In order for this to happen, we need to sink a well to access water.  This is because the area where our land is located is very dry and there is no water.  We know that the lives of many children will be impacted and transformed through the power of the gospel.  Along with the gospel, education is important as it provides children in impoverished communities with opportunities to break away from the shackles of poverty in the slums.

Subsequently, we plan to establish a boarding school where children will receive a holistic education as well as vocational skills such as carpentry, tailoring and farming.  We also hope to reach out to the Masai tribe, a pastoralist warrior tribe who live in this area.  They have indicated that they would like to learn basic farming methods for their survival as the current way of life is not sustainable due to land shrinkage as more of their tribesman sell land to developers.

We would like to invite you to be a praying partner with us to raise the funds needed to sink the well! Thank you so much for your support and God bless you!

Hope Anew Child Friendly Space

In the midst of a slum, teeming with busy people involved in various activities for survival, children can often be invisible people.  Oh, they are most certainly there in abundance but they are frequently left to their own devices.  This can be trying to find areas to play which can be unsafe, engaging in unwholesome activities or being exposed other harmful influences.

On November 21st of 2012, Hope Anew Ministry launched a Bible club ministry called Hope Clubs.  These clubs are for children between the ages of  4-13.  During this time children receive a Bible lesson, sing songs, play Scripture memory and review games, and are taught to pray.

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.”  Proverbs 31:8

We were meeting in two locations withing Mukuru Kayaba slum.  These are actually public toilets which have meetings rooms above.  While we were grateful for these meeting rooms, we found ourselves in need of our own space which would permit us to expand our ministry by providing other activities as well as reaching out to more children.A ministry of Hope Anew

At Hope Anew Ministry it is our desire to establish a friendly space for children where they can receive a warm welcome as they come for wholesome activities such as Bible clubs, games and arts & crafts.  Workshops to instruct children on a fun and interesting level about hygiene and disease preventative measures will also be provided as well as tutoring in school subjects.

In July of 2013 we wIMG_4969ere delighted to enter into an agreement with GOAL Kenya which would enable us to manage the child friendly space that had been operated by them.  We are asking three things on behalf of the children who cannot speak for themselves:

** Pray for this project, as it is vitally important to seek God’s counsel and provision.
**Donate funds to aid us in operating the center, whatever you are able to give is okay.
**Give of your time using your gifts and talents in order to make an impact in even just one child who comes to use the facility.

Go Ye Fellowship is handling the collection of donations and the fund that is set up for this purpose is called “Kenya-Hope Anew Project; the account number is 190004.  When you click on this link it will take you to the “Giving Page,” click on “Projects” in the pull down screen and then under “Choose a subcategory”, click on our project. You will be issued a tax-deductible receipt for your donation.  Thank you so very much on behalf of the children of Mukuru Kayaba slum. Give to Hope Anew Child Friendly Space
